Astro Diner Game Manual
Last updated: June 2026
This manual is the main reference for Astro Diner. It describes the current playable browser build using the same systems players see in the game: short shifts, generated tickets, local saves, stars, upgrades, missions, and world unlocks.
Core loop
Each shift begins with a world theme and a small ingredient set. Customers enter the lane with order tickets. The player taps or clicks ingredients into the prep deck, serves when the plate exactly matches a ticket, and keeps the lane moving until the timer ends or the run fails.
A successful shift is not only about speed. It is about choosing one ticket, building it accurately, clearing mistakes quickly, and deciding when an urgent low-value customer matters more than a slower high-value order.
Shift structure
The current configuration uses three lives, a base 120 second STANDARD shift, and a starting earnings goal of 250 credits. The shift can become busier as customers spawn faster and the lane fills.
The customer capacity starts small and can be increased by the Hover Stool upgrade. This keeps the early game readable while still giving experienced players a path to busier service.
| Difficulty Setting | Shift Duration | Spawn Rate Modifier | Target Score (Credits) |
|---|---|---|---|
| CHILL | 180 Seconds | 0.70x (Relaxed customer waves) | 250 Credits |
| STANDARD | 120 Seconds | 1.00x (Balanced arcade tempo) | 250 Credits |
| CHAOS | 90 Seconds | 1.40x (Aggressive fast-paced serving) | 250 Credits |

Orders and recipes
Recipes are generated from the ingredients available in the current world. Each order uses two to four ingredient entries, and the same ingredient can appear more than once in a ticket.
The recipe book explains the current generator, the fallback Standard Mess Hall examples, and how premium ingredients such as Dark Matter enter the pool after the Void Import License is unlocked.
Progression
Stars measure performance in worlds. Total stars unlock later sectors: Neon Market is always available, then Magma Core, Zero Kelvin, Xeno Swamp, Deep Void, and Hydro Lab open as the diner proves itself.
Long-term progress also includes missions, achievements, funds, upgrades, best earnings, best combo, and world win counts. The manager room brings these threads together between runs.

The manual links out to deeper pages for the systems that players most often need to inspect. These pages are written as permanent references rather than marketing copy.

How to use this manual during play
Use the manual as a table of contents for the current build. If a player loses a shift because the lane gets crowded, the useful path is scoring, aliens, upgrades, and controls. If a player does not understand why a world is locked, the useful path is worlds, stars, and missions.
The manual deliberately repeats the core rule in practical language because most mistakes come from abandoning that rule under pressure. Pick one ticket, build the exact plate, serve it, then choose the next ticket. Every other system exists around that loop.
